I'M SO HAPPY TO SEE SOMEONE WHO HAS THE SAME HATE AS ME! I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE ON THIS ONE!

I sort of want to smack him in the face. Hard. Maybe with the hours and hours of my life that were wasted watching Dances with Wolves.

5. ???

Bring that wrath on, girlie. That is just something I will never understand.

Unless you vote Republican for the economic policies. Which I don't agree with, but okay, I get that. But seriously, the 'Pubs are the peeps who are all the time fighting to take your rights away as a lesbian. What?

Socially Liberal, fiscally Conservative. I vote Republican because I feel that it is the lesser of two evils. I feel that while, yes, the Republicans make it harder for a homosexual person to gain all of the same rights as a heterosexual one, the Democrats are constantly fighting to take away my rights as a person. I am first and foremost a person.

Socially Liberal, fiscally Conservative.... the Democrats are constantly fighting to take away my rights as a person.

While I totally agree with the 'lesser of two evils', I totally feel like you're contradicting yourself there. Don't your rights as a person fall under the 'social' bracket? Though possibly your rights as a person aren't defined the same as mine? I dunno.

I totally get the socially liberal, fiscally conservative thing. I do. Or at least, the principle of it. It's just that so many of my friends preach the same thing to me, yet I'm not sure they actually understand the phrase.

Politics boggle my mind.

(I forgot to log in before. Sorry.)

I'm social Liberal to a point. For example, I'm cool with gay marriage, obviously. I'm not cool with a law stating that I have to wear my seat belt. It is my right to choose to wear a seat belt or not. Those are the kinds of rights I'm talking about. The right to choose how to live your own life. The rights that everyone has to make up their own minds on how to live their own lives. These rights are slowly being taken from the American people by the Left. In my blue tinted state it's illegal to smoke in a bar no matter how the individual owners feel like conducting business. I feel that this is wrong.

Basically, I'm of the opinion that I can do whatever the fuck I want as long as I don't hurt someone else or their property. What it really comes down to is this: I'm a Libertarian who votes Republican because Libertarians never win anything.

Alright, then, there's what it is...

Basically, I'm of the opinion that I can do whatever the fuck I want as long as I don't hurt someone else or their property.

Totally agree, but I'd like to add on the end or yourself. Like the seatbelt laws don't bother me. They're there for people's safety. And as for smoking in bars, those laws were put in place because of second hand smoke. We have the same law here, but it only extends to bars that serve food.

As for people's personal expression and how they live their lives, though? Anti-censorship, gay marriage, pro-choice, etc? I assume I'm with you all the way.

See, and I feel that you should have the right to hurt yourself. It's you. No one is youer than you, you know? Some nameless mass of upper middle class to wealthy bureaucrats shouldn't have the right to tell you how to live your life, even if all you wanna do is throw it away. That's your choice.

If someone who is worried about second hand smoke walks into a bar where smoking is permitted they could easily walk right back out. Why do they have the right to take away a bar owners right to conduct business? This person has every right to object, but they don't have the right to push their views on the bar owner because it hurts his property (his business). And, at least where I live, most of the time people hate these laws. They feel that they're invasive.

I believe that the government should be a cold calculating machine. It should protect people's property above saving them from themselves, which is basically what I'm talking about. The government shouldn't tell people what they can and can't do to themselves. Like sin taxes. You know why those exist? To try and push people into behaving like you''d like them to behave, which, in my book, they have absolutely no right to do.

I'm, pretty much a radical. A Libertarian is very much like an Anarchist. I don't expect people to believe what I believe, I just want them to except it and not hate me for them. Which is really what I was saying on my wrath list, you know?
